Some wedding days just feel like home...and Jess & Connor’s July wedding at the Bearspaw Farmers Market was exactly that. The venue used to be an old schoolhouse, which made it even more special since Jess’s grandma actually used to teach there. It’s not every day you get to celebrate love in a place tied so beautifully to your family’s story.
These two have known each other pretty much their whole lives, and you could feel that deep comfort between them all day long...the kind that comes from growing up side by side, becoming best friends, and then finding your forever in each other.
The ceremony took place outside on the green grass surrounded by trees, blue sky and sunshine. It was simple, heartfelt, and full of joy. Afterward, we headed to The Ale Tavern in Tuscany ...a little spot they go to for date nights...for some wedding party portraits that were as fun and laid-back as they are.
Then we made our way to Jess’s grandparents property for their couple portraits, and the adventure kicked up a notch. They wanted to drive up to the spot where they spent their first date together... and let’s just say the road was so steep at one point I thought we might actually take off. All we could see was sky. No land. Just laughter, adrenaline, and the perfect “this is so us” moment.
We made it back in time for cocktail hour, where guests were playing lawn games, mingling, and enjoying the summer air. Supper was inside, and one of the most emotional moments of the night was when Jess’s sister surprised her by singing one of their favourite songs...there wasn’t a dry eye in sight.
After a bit of dancing, Jess and Connor slipped outside, and laid under the sky together. A few minutes later, their wedding party came out and joined them... all cuddled up, laughing and soaking in the golden-hour glow. It was one of those moments that felt like a movie... quiet, warm, and full of love.
The night ended with more dancing, more laughter, and yes... I even joined in for a classic line dance. Because honestly, how could I not?
